I started writing screenplays proper in 2007 and since have written 10 of them, two of which have been archived.

LOOKING BACK, GOING FORWARD
Thank you for taking time out to read my resume-cum-mission-statement.
I started writing screenplays proper in 2007 and since have written 10 of them, two of which have been archived.
My eight active screenplays are: 1. White Days, about a girl lost in the Alaskan wilderness; 2. On Board, about an ex-detective on skid row who gets a second chance; 3. Glorious Revolution, about a girl torn by her allegiance to the head of the establishment and to the leader of the rebels; 4. Howlingween, about a family holiday turning nasty when organ hunters come after the family; 5. Howlingween 2: Clarry the Clown, about holiday-makers trapped on an island with a deadly humanoid; 6. Howlingween 3: Red River County, about a zombie-like being taking revenge on the townspeople who didn’t care he was dying of privation; 7. Counterchance, about an FBI agent who is prepared to do anything to save his family; 8. Once Young, about teenagers in love in a world they don’t understand.
My aim always is to ensure audiences who engage with the emotional worlds I create walk away at the end of the story feeling uplifted and seeing more beauty and love in their immediate environment.
In the last two months of 2019 I rewrote Howlingween 3: Red River County. Form 110 pages it is now 85. Gone are unnecessary complications, scenes, dialogue, descriptions and most of the explicit camera angles and the like.
Normally I use placid setting-up scenes at the beginning of my screenplays. What’s new to me is starting Red River County with what I call “grabber” scenes, which are intended to immediately excite an audience’s desire to find out what’s going. A security guard is attacked by what appears to be an “anonymous” creature.
Otherwise, 2019 has not been a sustained creative year for me. Having started five screenplays, I could not complete any one of them. It was at the end of the year I realised creativity can take a different form: rewriting existing work, thus the new-look Howlingween 3: Red River County.
For 2020, I shall revise, if not rewrite, the remaining seven screenplays. I would also like to have a go at completing one of the screenplays I started, perhaps Howlingween 4: Beastly Mist, about the hapless Forran family encountering this time round a swampy swarm of microscopic flesh-eating insects.
