Scriptapalooza Past Winners Optioned and Produced

Several former Scriptapalooza winners and runners-ups have had scripts optioned in recent months:

  • In 2004, Patrick Andrew O'Connor won the prestigious Scriptapalooza International Screenplay competition. His script, Don Juan, beat out 4,150 others for the $10,000 grand prize. After doing studio rewrite work and having several scripts in development, Patrick sold his script Break-Up Artist in June of 2008. It's currently being filmed in Vancouver and is expected to be released in 2009.

  • 2007 Finalist John Muscarnero "The Hypochondriac" got a meeting with producer Mark Shady of Nom De Plume Films and now he had his first feature produced by them, called Dark Woods, starring James Russo and Tracy Coogan.

  • 2007 First Place Winner "Whale Farts" signed by Viviano/Feldman and with lawyer Nigel McNulty at Jackoway Tyerman. Also, Brian optioned another script "A Brief History of Tim" to Hudson River Entertainment.

  • 2007 2nd place winner Matt Billingsly "Code Name Veil" signed with Industry Entertainment.

  • 2007 Finalist Natalie Light signs with United Talent Agency and Luber Roklin Management.
    • Natalie has been hired to write an urban love story for music video/ feature film director Chris Robinson and producer Jesse Collins about a love triangle between a famous R & B artist, a fan, and a songwriter.

    • Natalie is working with UTA TV agent, Marissa Devins, on an original series idea

    • Natalie is writing a Jami Gertz project.
