Alexander Berger is currently the Script Coordinator on the OWN original series QUEEN SUGAR (created by Ava DuVernay). Previously, he worked as the Script Coordinator on Showtime’s original series RAY DONOVAN (created by Ann Biderman).

His award winning original pilot BLOOD ON THE WALL, inspired by his childhood in West Philly, is a crime show from the perspective of a black teen caught between cops and gangsters. The teen uses his controversial mural art and the fame that comes with it to fight the violence plaguing his neighborhood.

His newest original pilot, GUNS OF SABINO CANYON, is a modern Western in which the heroic outlaw is an undocumented Mayan woman from Guatemala who reluctantly becomes a gunslinger for a xenophobic Sheriff. That script was inspired by his childhood in Tucson, Arizona.

On the feature side, Alex’s dramatic comedy, LITTLE ARMENIA, about an aging, used bookshop clerk combating the digital revolution, was a Quarterfinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. He also wrote ONU, an action/comedy about a womanizing American spy who discovers he has a 12-year-old daughter. That script was a Semifinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships.
