The Final Assassination

A family of retired assassins move into a small town to live a normal life, but find their peace threatened by the local gangster family, forcing them to choose between living like cowards, or going back to their old ways, one last time.

Karl, Marry, Olivia, and Daniel assassinate a German diplomat, posing as a happy family at the resort where the diplomat was staying. Karl talks to someone and gets a token of freedom from the life of killing. He wants a normal life moving forward. They reach a small town where Marry’s mother has left them a house. They complete the paperwork and realize that she has also been left a bakery. They see it as a sign of a new beginning. But we see that the family has some friction among them. They don’t talk too much because they have never had a normal talk in their lives. They don’t know how to behave like an ordinary family. Karl tries hard but sees his children inching away from him, as they continue this life. As they continue with their normal life, Karl and Marry learn that the town is under the rule of an Italian mob. But they decide to stay low and mind their own business, even when they see these Italians man-handling the pastor at the Church. Daniel encounters a girl being bullied at school. At first, he ignores it but intervenes one day. While Daniel is trying to make friends, Olivia has completely given up on the idea. She joins the computer club, but when she sees that it’s full of nerds, she keeps her distance. She sees a pamphlet for the auditions of the Drama club. She signs herself in. One day, as Marry is working in her bakery, she gets a visitor. An Italian guy threatens her and tries to extort her. When he threatens her family, she kills him. Karl gets a job as a manager of a local store. He sees the owner giving money to the Italians, but stays quiet. At school, Daniel and the girl finally break the ice and start talking. Olivia’s audition goes horribly wrong and she has a bout of rage on stage. She is sent for counseling where the counselor tries his best to understand Olivia, but fails. Karl comes to the bakery for lunch when three more gangsters arrive searching for their lost colleague. They threaten Karl and Marry, but Karl manages to calm her down. He decides to give them the money and asks them to come the next day. The next day, Karl arranges for the money but when the gangsters reveal that they were the ones who killed Marry’s mother, Karl and Marry kill them. They dump the bodies of the gangsters in the river. They decide against letting the children know about the killings. Angelo Mauro, the head of the gangster family, learns about the disappearance of his men. He orders his men to investigate the matter. Shawn Pitt, an FBI agent arrives at the bakery to welcome Marry to the town and tell her about her Mother’s case. Two more gangsters arrive at the bakery while Pitt is there. They are investigating the disappearances. Pitt leaves, deciding to start his own investigation. Olivia’s sessions with the counsellor are getting weird by the day. He decides to go to her house and talk to her parents. Karl and Marry realize that they have been bad parents all along. The family has a small dinner to celebrate Daniel’s birthday. But Angelo crashes it with his men. He has learned that the family refused to give them extortion money. Karl and Marry realize that they can never have a normal life until they are absolutely free. Pitt meets with Karl at his work and tells him that he knows the bakery is somehow involved in the disappearances of the gangsters. That night, their house is attacked by some gangsters. The family works as a team and kills them, saving the house and each other’s lives. Karl and Marry are scared because they realize this bloodshed was the only family moment they have had since they left everything. Daniel learns that the girl he was falling for is actually Angelo’s daughter. Olivia stops going to the counseling when she learns that the counselor went to her house behind her back. But when she is forced to attend the counseling, she finally gives up and breaks down. Without telling the counselor any details, she says that she always wanted a normal life but when she finally had it, she realized that she was average and there was nothing special about her. The counselor urges her to find the special in herself. The next day, Karl and Marry find their bakery totally destroyed. Angelo plans an all-out attack at the family’s house. But before he could, there was an attack on his house when half of his men drop dead from poison. The family has arrived. After a lot of fighting, blasts, and bloodshed, the family is face to face with Angelo. Angelo tells them that Marry’s mother’s death was an accident and he had already dealt with the culprit. Daniel urges his family to spare Angelo’s life. Karl and Marry take their children and leave Angelo’s house. Pitt arrives at the scene and arrests Angelo after his confession. The family rebuilds the bakery together. Karl and Marry begin their normal lives again. Daniel goes to school and sees that Angelo’s daughter isn’t there anymore. Olivia goes to the computer club and decides to join the nerd group, where she actually fits.
