Into this widower’s life strides the tough, attractive RITA FUENTESs, a Latina social worker, determined to open the Judge’s eyes to the harsh world faced by illegals who seek work across the US border.

She gives Judge a present: photos of all illegals he imprisoned. 4. San Cristobal (Mexican group)—Demetrio tells Antonio they leave for El Norte in morning. 5. Californian group. Ann and David quarrel over Bedfordson and Rita. 6. Mexican group. MARTINEZ drives group to border. 7. Californian group. Judge’s courtroom. Chart to pass judgment. Rita confronts judge. He is a widower, she a widow—romantic tension between two. Rita raises doubts about Bedfordson. 8. Rita takes judge on ride. Her brother FLORENZIO drives. Bordertown bar. 9. Mexican group. ANTONIO open to making money quickly at border. 10. Bordertown bar. Demetrio and Judge meet unintentionally. Demetrio to see coyote; Judge forcibly brought by Rita to see process. Judge threatened, saved by Demetrio. 11. Californian group. CUNNINGHAM is running for congress. Tough on illegals. Visiting border. Bedfordson’s candidate. David with Cunningham. 12. Mexican group We follow Demetrio and Antonio. Safe house. Antonio offered drugs to take over border. 13. Californian group. Judge and Rita, widower and widow, sharing time together. 14. Revelation. Bedfordson is running drugs across border. Laundering money through Yacht Club restaurant. 15. Rita takes Judge, at night, to witness drug movements. He loses his watch. 16. David set-up by Bedfordson, who knows Judge saw drug operation. Blackmail Judge. 17. Mexican group. CONTRACTISTO pins drug-running on Demetrio, not Antonio. Demetrio arrested. 18. Dirty Californian cops working with Contractisto. 19. Demetrio appears before Judge. “Easy case.” But Judge wants more information. Suspects much about this case. 20. Bedfordson warns Judge that Superior Court Judgeship might not be his if he decides the wrong way. 21. Judge acknowledges there are extenuating circumstances in the case. 22. Ends with Judge and Rita together.
