Sting takes place in the distant future, as a solar flare caused the World to be in a full apocalypse since the majority of everything operated on electronics. We meet the main character named Angel, who is one of the main survivors in Texas, where gigantic killer insects run rampant. She spends most of her time in the Forest, where she hunts for food and lives off the land. After she went hunting for food, a group of survivors called scavengers stole her kill but were quickly eaten by Tarantula Hawks. After Angel witnessed the horror, she continued to hunt for food and settled for fish by the river. Later that night, she sets up camp and has the same nightmare she's been having for years. In the dream, we go back to when she was a small child, and she witnessed the solar flare when it first happened. However, we also witnessed the physical abuse she endured at the hands of her father. After waking up in a cold sweat, she gets targeted by a group of soldiers who come from the town of Evergreen. After attempting to fight back, Angel succumbs to a tranquilizer dart and falls asleep. She wakes up in the back of a van, and we meet the general of all the soldiers who goes by the name Julius. They've been stalking Angel for some time because she once worked at the lab that created the killer insects. They believe that Angel is the key to finding the lab and figuring out a way to eradicate all the killer insects for good. After some protesting, Angel is brought to the town of Evergreen, where we meet the leader of Evergreen, who goes by the name of Mayor David. Mayor David introduces Angel to Lilly, the head Scientist in charge of destroying all the killer insects and one of the founders of Evergreen. Afterwards, Angel is brought to her jail cell by Julius, but it's no ordinary jail cell. It's full of training equipment to become an Evergreen soldier and learn how to properly kill the insects through hand to hand combat. Angel refuses to join; however, she gets visited by Mayor David, who was a psychiatrist before the apocalypse happened, and quickly has a breakthrough from Angel's past traumas. Several months pass by, and Angel has joined the Evergreen soldiers but was almost killed during a training exercise. As she was badly injured, she shared an intimate moment with Julius after he showed concern for her survival. The next day, as Mayor David, Lilly, and Julius were planning the quest to find the lab Angel used to work in, the scouts that Julius sent came back in several bags with their dismembered bodies inside. It was a clear warning from the scavengers. Later that night, Mayor David visits Angel one last time before they start the quest. Mayor David introduces Angel to a hidden basement behind a bookshelf. Beyond the basement is a self-destruct button that will destroy all of Evergreen in case something happens. The basement also leads to an escape route outside the outskirts of Evergreen into the Forest. As Mayor David showed Angel the exit to the Forest, they got attacked by gigantic Mosquitoes. Mayor David escapes safely and leaves Angel behind. Upon Angel fighting off the Mosquitoes, she falls into a mud pit, making her invisible to mosquitoes, but not before falling into a steep hill and hurting herself. When Angel returns to Evergreen, she is quickly brought to the Hospital and starts her road to recovery. Julius gathers half the Evergreen soldiers, and they all march towards the lab that started it all. However, the Evergreen army is quickly introduced by Roger, the leader of the Scavengers. He gives Julius and his army a final warning to turn around. Julius refuses, and the Scavengers activate an EMP device that crippled all the electric weaponry and defense of the Evergreen soldiers. They throw smoke bombs full of sweet nectar pollen and get attacked by murder hornets. The Evergreen soldiers get eliminated, and Julius gets caught in the process. He then gets captured and tortured into finding the location of the Evergreen town. Angel wakes up from being unconscious and hears about the tragedy of Julius and the Evergreen army. She vows to avenge Julius. The following day, during another meeting with Mayor David, a new sonic device is introduced by Lilly to ward off all insects if the town of Evergreen gets swarmed by killer insects. Seifer is introduced as Julius's successor. Mayor David orders a military formation to prepare for Roger's assault. During the installation of the new sonic device, a mysterious person kills the Evergreen soldier and switches off the sonic device. Roger and his entire army show up outside the town of Evergreen and demand to be allowed inside. After Mayor David refuses, Lilly arrives inside the control room and murders Mayor David. She locks the Evergreen army inside. Roger and his army throw sweet nectar pollen grenades, and the town of Evergreen gets attacked by Murder Hornets. Seifer, Angel, and the rest of the army were ready for this and attacked the murder hornets with backpack tanks full of bug spray. Lilly opens the entrance to the Evergreen town in a final showdown between the last of the Evergreen army and Roger's army. Seifer sends Angel back to her home to detonate the device that will destroy the town of Evergreen in case something happens. After some hesitation, Angel goes home and removes her military outfit while she prepares for the worst. As Seifer and the Evergreen army were going to attack, Lilly activated a suicide device that was implanted inside the belt buckle of all the Evergreen soldiers. Roger and his army finish off all the Evergreen soldiers and kill every single one of them. Roger and his army soon enter Evergreen after that and start murdering all the citizens in town while burning down buildings and plundering. Roger arrives at Angel's house, and she kills all the soldiers surrounding Roger and fights him while nearly killing him. Angel nearly escapes when reinforcements arrive. Roger, infuriated, goes after Angel, but Lilly arrives and wants to receive her prize for betraying the town of Evergreen immediately. Roger kills Lilly just for getting in his way. After several days of searching for Angel, she slowly starts killing small groups of Roger's army. After this goes on, we are introduced to the 2nd in command in Roger's army, Vincent. They both plot to get Angel out in the open by putting Roger out in the open for her. Roger, Vincent, and a few of Roger's soldiers return to Angel's former house. Angel shoots and kills Roger's surrounding soldiers with a sniper rifle while she is aiming it from the top of Julius's old house. Angel soon runs out of Bullets and falls through a damaged floorboard. She lands in a basement and breaks her leg. Roger, Vincent, and reinforcements start closing in. She injects herself with a mysterious fluid that will help heal her injuries. When Roger, Vincent, and reinforcements arrive, we see that Angel transforms into a half-human and half-insect creature. As Roger's soldiers search for Angel, they get slaughtered by her. Roger and Vincent make a run for it outside and call for more reinforcements. Angel never surfaces, and Roger orders the house to be burned down. We find out that Lilly and Roger used to work together in the same lab, and he promised to keep the ingredients of the mysterious fluid she created safe and would return it to her when the time was right. Mayor David and Julius had a small sample in their possession the whole time, but decided to return to the original lab to acquire the original ingredients to create more of it. They were never trying to eradicate the killer insects, as they told Angel. The night before Roger and his people leave, 2 of Roger's soldiers get attacked by Angel; however, Vincent was already waiting for her. They severely wounded her before she crashed and landed on top of a church. Vincent and the rest of Roger's soldiers chase after Angel's where she landed. However, Angel makes a loud noise, and hundreds of tarantula Hawks enter the church where she fell. As Vincent and Roger's army enters the church, they get slaughtered. The next morning, Roger wakes up and follows the trail to his army. He enters the church and sees the pure slaughter of his people. Angel chases after him, and he tries to escape in an Evergreen military vehicle. When Roger thinks he eludes her, he arrives back to his hideout in Mayor David's former office and gets stung by Angel. She brings Roger inside a cave and plants a baby insect inside him. A tarantula Hawk bursts out of Roger's body and exits the cave. The Tarantula Hawk quickly gets killed by a drifter named Tommy, but Tommy is quickly killed by Vincent. Angel appears one last time, and Vincent attempts to show his allegiance to Angel for letting him leave, only to be stung and suffer the same fate as Roger did. Nobody was left to hear him scream.
