The Minotaur

THE FIND OF THE CENTURY BECOMES THE NIGHTMARE OF THE CENTURY. In the footsteps of movie monsters such as Jaws, Predator, and Alien, comes The Minotaur.

Taking a well-known myth and giving it a twist. What if the Minotaur was real.

Thinking they had discovered a crude idol of the man-bull beast of legend, it is put on display in New York. But the monster is actually in suspended animation under a coat of clay (explained in the story) and is released when, during a big electrical storm, it is struck by a lightning bolt (Zeus's spears in mythology). It finds its way to the sewers, where it resumes its life in the new labyrinth, seeking human flesh.

There are deaths. A jump to a conclusion of an alligator (urban myth but some truth of existence) and the hunt is started. Satisfaction when, indeed, an alligator is found and killed… until the post mortem reveals no human remains in the stomach. More finds at the site in Crete reveal a story of the Minotaur, in pursuit of the human sacrifices, is lured into a clay pit, which rapidly hardens under the hot sun. Hard to believe this idol could be the actual Minotaur – real not myth. An organised hunt, with SWAT and ARMY, with the American archaeologist (co-discoverer) and senior investigating police officer. Another storm – the sewers fill up. The Commander calls an evacuation – too dangerous to continue. Too late for the detective and archaeologist, both swept away. The same surge takes the Minotaur, only minutes behind them. A fight for survival in an overflow pool.
