CERTAIN ARRANGEMENTS

A naïve teen on probation for a first offense gets lured into using an old woman's flower shop where he works as a front for drug trafficking.

Zhay Townsend is lured into stealing a car by his friend, Pro Watson. Pro is sent to juvey hall, but Zhay is assigned to a church-sponsored work-study program since it's Zhay's first offense.

Mrs. D, a crusty old Italian-American florist, puts Zhay to work on menial tasks while she works on a flower arrangement to be entered in the annual flower show competition.

Pro escapes from juvey hall. He and Phisto, a drug-dealer, talk Zhay into delivering drugs under the guise of making flower deliveries.

At the church hall, Zhay tries to impress a girl, Keisha Hairston, with his new-found wealth, but she spurns him.

Eventually, Zhay becomes conscience-stricken about deceiving the old woman and for ruining lives with his drug deliveries.

When Mrs. D becomes ill, Zhay ignores a drug delivery in order to finish her flower arrangement and get it to the competition in time.

Furious, Phisto has Pro kidnap Keisha. Zhay rushes to save her but is waylaid by a rival for Keisha's affections.

Bloodied and brusied, Zhay arrives just in time to save Keisha as the place goes up in flames, killing Phisto and Pro.

In court the next morning, the judge is about to pass sentence on Zhay when Mrs. D., getting up from her hospital bed, shows up to beg for clemency for Zhay.

The judge relents, releasing Zhay into Mrs. D's custody. She promises she will teach him a trade, and with his help, will win next year's competition.
