The Experiment

Ambition, class prejudice and racism forever alter the lives of a poor white boy bound for delinquency and a young Afro-American athlete headed for stardom.

During the tremulous times of the early Civil Rights movement, some saw integration as a social experiment. Etta and Pauline, Black athletes recruited to an all-white school, are focused on their own goals only to find out that outside forces can derail even the most determined efforts. Ultimately, Henry and Pauline are suctioned up into one of the American medical establishment's dirty secrets, the illegal and unethical medical experimentation on the poor and Black populations. THE EXPERIMENT sheds light on that experimentation, kept under-wraps for decades, that most people have never heard of and yet was chillingly described as being as “American as cherry pie”. To this day, the poor, Native and African Americans still experience medical discrimination. Victims of these experiments and their families have never received reparation. With THE EXPERIMENT, we hope to shed light on this horrible subject that has been kept quiet for too long.
