Synopsis

HC of the SERIES: For ELIZA returning to L.A. means freedom to embrace a liberal, “new-age” lifestyle, but for GARATI, a traditionalist Hindu, dragged to the US via marriage, it’s a prison so they clash big time when Eliza’s son and her daughter choose to marry. But sharing common ground – cheating husbands, social prejudice, and a love for their child, may pave the way to the altar for their love birds ... LEAD CHARACTERS: ...a buddy story The breezy, optimistic ELIZA (45) no longer complies with or defers towards, her “vanilla,” yet conniving husband. For GARATI (42) traditional culture is her “comfort zone” and isolating herself, with her relationship with her husband and daughter strained, tradition and keeping up appearances is a matter of pride. No one must know how unhappy she is. TRANSFORMATIONAL JOURNEY: Eliza thinks swapping bake sales for transcendental yoga, means she’s “arrived” but dark memories surface that she must come to terms with in order to bless and release herself. Garati’s ability to keep the lid on her inner angst is obliterated when learning of her daughter’s “illegal” relationship with a foreigner, their love-child, and their intention to marry, but Eliza’s “sisterhood-in-solidarity” approach helps Garati put love before tradition.
