An original screenplay, Waterspout is a thriller in a battle by a woman water advocate, her estranged lawyer husband, and their Odawa Indian friend, who overcome their past and to reunite, unravel, reveal, and stop a cartel that plans ("Drain Cock") to take over control of major sources and transport of the world's freshwater. The privatization and control of freshwater by privately held hedge funds and corporations threatens the human right to water, liberty, survival, peace, and the deepest connections of people, water, and community for survival in the 21st Century. Waterspout begins with the death of a Native American fishermen diving underwater to capture on film a ship sucking up water from the Great Lakes, to a D.C. senate hearing over a treaty that would allow private co control of water, to a Tianmen Square like confrontation protest and armies at the Soo Locks, to the exposure of the cartel during a meeting of the U.N.'s General Assembly, and to a final showdown with the cartel's billionaire mastermind in a deadly sailboat race shattered by a cyclonic waterspout. The story brings a timely, vivid story, packed with action and drama, romance, and action to one of the most undisputed serious threats facing the planet today.
