My Family

A loving couple who can't have children create their own diverse family in an inner city resulting in mixed consequences.

When one is internally full of love and kindness it can’t be helped but to spread and affect others. That is the dramatic story of Paul and Dana. An Italian-American restaurant owner and a southern college student in the inner city meet, fall in love and change people around them. As their relationship grows their life changes for the best. Paul and Dana have such strong support for each other and approach life with such positivity. With that their inner circle of friends grow. But not all is perfect. They can’t have children for themselves. All their hopes, love and resources can’t help these two ideal parents bear a child. In addition, Paul becomes haunted with violent dreams. These visions involve terrible acts against Dana which creates a fear of losing the most important thing in his life. With fatherhood not a possibility Paul decides not to let that dictate his life. He was blessed with an opportunity and along with hard work had a chance to succeed. As any good parent knows a life goal involves your children to succeed and to have a better life than yourself. Without the ability to influence his own kids he observes the children in his neighbor are missing that chance and sets out to change it. Fortunately, a random encounter occurs which gives Paul an insider to help. That person is Marc who is a smart kid from the neighbor with a good heart. Together they make changes which rippled through the community. But these effects have a negative result in the criminal aspect of town. Kids are getting legit jobs and not sacrificing themselves for gang leaders’ profit. As more kids benefit more of a toll results towards the gang and more hatred grows towards Paul eventually leading to a confrontation. But with Paul’s close-knit friends they united to support Paul and Dana in their time of need just like a loving family would.
