Apparently So

After being dumped by text, a woman in her fifties leans on her fiercely loyal (and hilariously unfiltered) friends to rebuild her life—transforming heartbreak into triumph with the release of her brutally honest debut book.

Lucy Bloom has spent years holding her marriage together, determined to give her children stability even as her husband Peter’s behavior grows unpredictable, controlling, and destructive. Financially dependent and emotionally worn down, Lucy stays far longer than she knows she should—afraid that leaving means losing everything, and unsure who she is without the role she’s been forced into.

When the marriage finally ends, Lucy steps into midlife with no roadmap and a heart full of bruises. She dates all the wrong men for all the wrong reasons, trying to fill the void that years of neglect carved into her. Just when she begins to believe she might be ready for something real, she meets Harry—a charming, soulful man who seems to offer the affection she’s been starved of.

Lucy falls quickly and deeply… and gets her heart broken just as fast.

But this heartbreak becomes the turning point. Instead of collapsing, Lucy channels her pain into writing—a book that captures the raw truth of her marriage, her fears, her resilience, and the long path back to herself. As she writes, she begins rebuilding her confidence, rediscovering her voice, and letting go of the patterns that once defined her.

By the time her book launches to a cheering crowd, Lucy realizes she no longer needs Peter’s approval, Harry’s attention, or anyone else’s validation to feel whole. She has already rewritten her own life—on the page and in her heart.

Author Bio:
Naomi Lisner is an actor, writer, and occasional director who believes stories should make you feel something — preferably laughter, catharsis, and maybe a tiny existential crisis (the fun kind). After years working in front of the camera, she eventually picked up the pen, the director’s chair, and a paintbrush, proving she has trouble sitting still for more than five minutes.

An award-winning storyteller, Naomi creates work with heart, humour, and characters who feel real enough to text you at 2 a.
