The Ephod

Synopsis

Based on a true story, The Ephod is a gripping spiritual drama that follows Faith Alvarez, a devout Catholic thrust into a crisis of non-belief when a provocative Bible study turns upside down, tearing apart everything she thought she knew about doctrine, truth, and the spiritual power behind religious authority. That same night, Faith experiences a vivid dream that transforms into an actual Spirit encounter when a mysterious, authoritative figure enters her dream and starts preaching with passion and authority. When she is fully awake His voice and presence linger as he speaks of an ancient priestly garment, the Ephod, compelling her to seek answers.

Driven by the encounter, Faith turns to scripture and a range of other historical sources, including Ethiopian and other expanded texts—to uncover the meaning of the Ephod, a sacred garment worn by the High Priest. It was used in conjunction with divination oracles to seek Divine guidance. As her research deepens, her journey unfolds alongside sweeping biblical reenactments—from Eden to the consecration of the Levitical priesthood, to David safeguarding the sacred garments, and ultimately to the baptism of young John and birth of Jesus Christ, through to His crucifixion, revealing a continuous thread of priesthood fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

The Biblical sources used in her research span the gamut for completeness and accuracy, with the primary scriptures coming from Ethiopian Texts. No matter the doctrine, Scriptures begin to connect in unexpected ways leading Faith to arrive at a bold theological conclusion that challenges long-held interpretations of scripture, particularly regarding the nature of Jesus’ role on the cross. Her work is brought into an academic arena, where it is rigorously tested, debated, and scrutinized. What is brought forward in the end, is the Priesthood of Jesus Christ – the greatest story never told–in more ways than one – until now.
