Synopsis

103 Minutes A Family/Teen Action Movie V.O.: Back in 1850 in Texas, USA, a Government train carrying over $3 million plus was chugging up an incline. Lying in wait was P. who jumped aboard and overcame the guard. Chased by a posse, Paul crosses a desert, losing a posse led by the Sheriff. He hid his loot in a ghost town in New Mexico. He soon became a respected teacher, annually augmenting his pay from the hidden hoard. In 1995 his great, great grandson, Billy discovered Paul’s secreted diary and a poem of clues pointing towards the lost treasure. Billy and beautiful sister Jenny collect handsome but selfish Rick, nervy Karen, resourceful Tommy and food worshipping Roger to help them find the treasure. They journey to New Mexico in their ancient van and are warned of the disappearing past explorers and lawmen. The Sheriff persuades them that they will never achieve their object but they hire a newer 4 X 4 and continue on their way. They become suspicious of his motives. They survive a rifleman, a snake onslaught, a landslide and reach the town of Rimfire, hinted at in the poem. Exploring the ghost town, some are trapped in the jail by a maniac, Stalker, in cahoots with the Sheriff and Mayor. Tommy manages to free the team and handicaps Stalker with a trip-wire. Billy leads the others in a search of the basement when Roger falls through a trapdoor and Stalker traps all six in a tunnel. They find a coffin, empty but for snakes crawling through the skeleton’s eye sockets. No treasure! Karen and Rick are ensnared by Stalker as they escape from the tunnels by a rotten ladder. Roger loosens Stalker’s horse’s girth. Roger also dangles upside down from a rafter. Tommy, Billy and Jenny escape and fashion bows and arrows. Tommy tricks Stalker into chasing him to a prepared trap and Stalker falls down a flight of stairs, semi- conscious and with a battered leg. Stalker chases Roger up the High Street on his horse but Roger swerves followed by the horse and Stalker meets his doom as his saddle slips and he bounces upside down, smashing his head on the High Street cobbles . Almost simultaneously Sheriff Bolan and Mayor Halstead arrive in the ghost town. They find Stalker’s battered body, and pistols drawn, seek the youngsters, who fight back.
