Givers and Takers

Gage seeks the services of gorgeous Rachel Worthington, the best criminal attorney in town, who is also Alastor’s daughter. Gage finagles his way into becoming her temporary driver and ingratiates himself with her.

After a rift develops between Alastor and Rachel Gage gets her drunk and Rachel reveals that in an angry tirade, Alastor accused her of not being a “real Worthington.”

Through a secret DNA test, Rachel discovers that her father’s wife of convenience, Mara, isn’t her mother. She was adopted. Feeling betrayed, she teams-up with Gage. He’ll locate her birth mother and she’ll help with his brother’s case.

Gage learns that the attorney who hastily set up Brad’s plea deal is Flynn Capers, who’s only licensed to practice in another state and is nowhere to be found.

Rachel attempts to become Brad’s counsel, but Brad has been put in solitary confinement for allegedly assaulting a guard. Rachel confronts the judge who’ll preside over Brad’s sentencing and demands that the hearing be postponed, to no avail.

Rachel is then accosted and threatened at gunpoint by Flynn who conceals his identity. He warns her to back off. Rachel’s ready to quit until she suspects that her secretary is a part of a plot against her.

Mara slips Gage an old letter that Rachel’s birth mother had written to Rachel. Gage and Rachel soon discover that Rachel’s mother was Delores Alvarez.

Flynn owns a string of cheap real estate properties across the state with his silent partner, Alastor. They’re holding the properties for United Arab Emirates casino owners. The property transfers and kickbacks would commence when Alastor becomes governor.

Candy, a prostitute friend of Deloris, charges Rachel and Gage fifty grand to fill in the blanks about Rachel and Deloris. She confirms that Alastor is Rachel’s biological father.

She also reveals that Alastor stole Rachel as an infant. Brad was paid to keep her high and helpless. When Deloris was diagnosed with terminal cancer she desperately sought to reveal the truth to Rachel, but she was blocked by Flynn and Alastor.

Flynn, along with the dirty cop who arrested Brad, bursts into the apartment and takes the credit for Deloris’ murder. Deloris had threatened to go to the press so Flynn killed her in the abandoned house just before Brad entered the house to stash his drugs.

FBI agents storm the apartment and take out the cops. Flynn tries to escape but during a fist-fight, Gage knocks him unconscious. On Election Day, Alastor, Flynn, and their conspirators are arrested and Brad is released from prison.
