Saber-Tooth Cat

A little girl's mother wants to rid the family of her daughter's beloved undomesticated cat until the mother faces the jaws of a vicious dog.

A little Tomboy, Carrie, a spirited young girl who cherishes her untamed black cat. However, this beloved companion proves to be a bit too much for her mother, Louise. Trouble brews when Aunt Sylvia, who hasn’t visited in years and brings along her adored little poodle, comes to see the family.

When an unfortunate incident occurs, and Aunt Sylvia's poodle gets hurt by Carrie's cat, Louise feels compelled to take action. Despite Carrie's passionate defense—arguing that it was Aunt Sylvia's poodle who instigated the situation—Louise insists that her husband, Paul, must take the cat to the SPCA.

Yet, as events unfold, Louise finds herself reconsidering her decision. A menacing neighbor’s large dog invades their yard, threatening not only Louise but also Carrie's infant brother. This frightening encounter forces Louise to confront the reality of their situation, as the same dog charges toward Paul when he tries to address the issue with the neighbor. In this moment, Louise begins to see the true value of Carrie's wild cat, realizing that sometimes, what we perceive as trouble can also be our greatest protector.
