Game, Set, and Match

A French wild-card entry takes on the defending American champion before a wildly partisan audience at the French Open.

A farce in which a female actress, representing a wild-card entry, Fifi LaFrance dressed in typical Marcel Marceau mime outfit, is towed on court in a Radio Flyer wagon by a Standard poodle, and playing in an absurd Jacques-Tati-like form, goes up against Anna Champion, a dead-serious tall blonde American defending champion at the French open before a wildly partisan crowd. Her antics include taking a seven-course meal break from soup to nuts, and a medical break for care by a psychiatrist. The French chair umpire does his best to be both fair and indulgent at the same time.
