If life is three acts, screenwriting is my fifth act. Born in Charleston South Carolina, I earned an undergraduate degree in history from Univ. of South Carolina, magna cum laude. Later, I graduated from two of the nation's best med schools -- a J.D. from Duke and a Ph.D. in political science from Johns Hopkins. This was my poetry phase with 100 poems in magazines, newspapers, and anthologies.

Later, I graduated from two of the nation's best med schools -- a J.D. from Duke and a Ph.D. in political science from Johns Hopkins. This was my poetry phase with 100 poems in magazines, newspapers, and anthologies.

In my next act, I taught at the University of Texas in Austin. Then I practiced law (high tech and aerospace) and worked as a consultant and activist. I wrote three books on outer space law, policy, and business, and I am in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in the World for those activities.

I come to screenwriting later in life. This script won a Gold Remi at Worldfest and was a semifinalist at Shriekfest 2008. Other scripts have won an honorable mention at ScreenplayFestival.com, finalist at the 2008 Charleston International Film Festival, and another Gold and a Silver Remi at Worldfest. I've loved movies since childhood, and writing screenplays is a second childhood. I've written seven screenplays in the last four years... Now, to rewrite!

My writing partner is Miriam Goldman, my seventeen year old daughter. A high school junior, you might say, she is in her first act. A mezzo-soprano with a more than three octave range, she studies voice at Rice University Shepherd School's Preparatory Program. Although classically trained, her real passion is 1940s jazz and Broadway. But, she is equally at home and happy in country, folk, soul, blues, and rock. Can anyone say, PROUD PARENT.
