Objective:
|
The PAGE Awards were established by an alliance of Hollywood producers, agents, and development execs. Our goal: to discover the most talented new screenwriters from across the country and around the world. And due to the success of our winning writers, the PAGE Awards are rapidly becoming one of the most important sources for new screenwriting talent within the Hollywood community and worldwide.
One of the most frustrating things about so many screenwriting contests both for the writers and for the judges is that scripts of different genres are in competition with each other. But how can you compare a comedy to an action script? How do you rank a family film against a thriller? Moreover, why is it that most contests only reward the screenwriter who writes a powerful drama, while many of the most successful movies made in Hollywood are comedies, thrillers, action flicks and family films?
In order to address this problem, and to encourage a wide variety of screenwriting talent, the PAGE Awards judges present prizes to screenwriters in ten different genre categories:
Action/Adventure
Comedy
Drama
Family Film
Historical Film
Science Fiction
Thriller/Horror
Short Film
TV Drama Pilot
TV Sitcom Pilot
Not only do the winning writers receive over $30,000 in cash and prizes, but most importantly, the contest is judged entirely by working professionals in the film and television industry, so all contestants have the opportunity to get their work into the hands of Hollywood professionals currently in search of new talent.
(Entry fee: $39 by 1/31; $49 by 3/15; $59 by 4/30; $69 by 5/31. Discounts for multiple submissions. Judge's Feedback also available.

Reel Realities has announced
a new screenplay contest aimed at financing and producing the winning
script. Not since Project Greenlight has any script contest allocated
this as the first prize.
While most screen writing contests entice writers with the notion that
they may introduce writers to agents or managers, it will serve as
little to no benefit because unless writers are signed with one of the
top five to ten agencies in the world that have the clout to promote
client. And even that will not guarantee that a script will be optioned,
sold, or produced.
At Real Realities, we do not want to introduce you to agents or managers
and then say "good luck". We want to make your film. (Entry fee: $50.00)
